“Environmental, Social and Impact Assessment (ESIA) project on the 500 ton Integrated Rice Complex Project and reuse of rice husk as biomass or renewable energy for electricity production, Twantay Township, Yangon, Myanmar”
The proposed project, 500 Ton/Day Integrated Rice Complex Project, referred as IRCP, is developed by Myanmar Japan Rice Industry Co., Ltd jointly implemented by Myanmar Agribusiness Public Corporation Limited (MAPCO) and MITSUI & Co., Ltd. The project is located on the bank of Twantay Canal, Twantay Township, Yangon.
Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessment for the proposed project were conducted by Myanmar Sustainable Development Engineering Services Co., Ltd. The authority meeting was carried out at Environmental Conservation Department, Ministry of Environmental Conservation and Forestry (MoECaF), Building No. 53, Nay Pyi Taw on 17 December 2013, for the purpose of the meeting to receive guidance for proposed project. The initial stakeholder meeting was held on 23 December 2013 and feedback stakeholder meeting was held on 7th September, 2015 at Swe Myintmo Dammathala Hall of Pobebaryone Monastery, Kanbe Village. Review team meeting was conducted in Environmental Conservation Department on 8th September, 2016 and revised version of ESIA report with responses to ECD comments was already submitted.
